The first stage created a link to the rear courtyard by placing the kitchen and bathroom centrally. 

 

A curved northern skylight runs the full length of the rear addition providing cross ventilation and an interior with natural light throughout the day. The second stage is an additional storey for a study, bedroom and bathroom.
